THE BANDUNG PAPER ART SHOW
“Paperium: Perspective / Creativity”
An overall exhibition of paper as a basic medium for visual art has never been done and never been significantly documented in Indonesian contemporary art. There are a few exhibitions in that direction, but it has not been widely known. The known works of visual art with paper for it's basic medium, so far tend to blend in with other medias as a part of other exhibitions. The tendency of these works are still limited to art on paper, making paper only as the base of a drawing or painting, without further exploration. There are not many artists who pursue this medium. Artists tend to think of paper as a secondary medium, which isn't essential to be appreciated just like any other media, especially from the perspective of someone who explores the more economic value of artworks. |

PAPERIUM 2
“Exhibition & Bazaar”
Exhibition Some argue, old medium like paper has been shifted into new media art. However, some of the technology of new media emerged from the idea of a sheet of paper. Despite the different in forms, the entire application using the system or pattern that is similar with the logic when someone writes on the paper. Paper undergoes a transition from a real object (a strand of paper) into a conceptual thinking (paper as an idea, thought of forms). Paper is not lost or displaced, they go hand in hand with the technology, forming an other media and placing itself ( paper ) on a higher position as conceptual ideas, thought. Based on the above reasoning, we try to organize the exhibition, that explores further the creativity, in the use of paper as a medium of art that has transitioned. This exhibition did not only be a means of education and knowledge of the paper as the medium of creativity, but also as a means of interaction and dialogue between artists and the public. Creativity Bazaar Creativity comes from the word create, namely creating. This word is not foreign to the society and are often associated with a new innovation that fresh, interesting, and sometimes surprising. He is not bound with limits reasoning and can manipulate factors contained in vicinity into a discovery or new development. Through this bazaar, we would like to show some of the creations, from individuals that explore the field of creative (professional). Provide the opportunity of interaction, for artists and individuals that are interested in the field of creative (professional). |
